Cause you're a sky full of stars...

Hi guys!

Man it's been a while since I've done a personal post.

The past few weeks have been very stressful and exhausting for me. Trying to recreate something you have no basis for is not fun. Essentially the person who had my job before me did much of her work on her personal computer and then never transferred it to the marketing laptop. So I've been trying to recreate things we did last for with nothing to reference. It's led to a lot of mistakes and things going wrong.

Thankfully, I think I'm finally past all that. I'm really looking forward to doing this again without everything going wrong this time. I feel much more prepared for next year already.

This past week alone I got up at 5 and 6 am and worked a 16 hour and 15 hour day. But, we're about to go into opening all shows, and (I think) that once that happens things should go a lot more smoothly.

Of course there are always frustrations and those have come up multiple times. Overall, though, I think things are going very well everywhere. I'm constantly overwhelmed by how friendly and talented this company is. Definitely a huge improvement from last year. Honestly, I think everything is better than last year. I sold more ads; Amy is kicking ass on our Silent Auction; the talent is better; the drama is less; and we spent less money on important things.

I can't believe it's already July. This year is flying past. I have so many things to look forward to in the next year. All I need is to stop living paycheck to paycheck, and I may finally feel like I'm getting things under control.

Busy Baltimore Bee

It's been a week. Unfortunately, coming home means taking care of business first and foremost.

I've now visited Labcorp, my dentist, my doctor, and my hair dresser.

Okay, so it looks basically the same. Whatever, having my hair cut makes me feel pretty!

I've also interviewed three people, bought a dress for a wedding, gone through the stuff I left at home, got my Victoria's Secret back pack fixed, talked to two people in my field to get advice, helped my neighbor with online stuff, and today I'll meet the guy who's going to fix our house, make a Goodwill run, go to the Post Office (LOTS of swapping), swing through Whole Foods, and maybe make it out with my sanity.

So much for a relaxing time at home, huh?

That's not even the end of it either! So many things, so little time! I'm almost looking forward to going back to Maine just so I can have some down time! Though then I need to get my butt in gear and start educating myself on the marketing train.

I hate these blurred lines..

Being an adult is hard sometimes.

Last week, in addition to dealing with my career change, I also had all my financial accounts explode. First, there was a mistake with my credit card which ended up with me having $15,000 on it. It doesn't sound like a problem, but I couldn't use any of it, and my credit card was confused.

Then, someone hacked into my PayPal account and sent $90 to a random email. In addition to this being bad because of the $90, it over drafted my checking account, and they charged me $32 in over draft fees. PLUS I disputed the charge, and according to PayPal, the case was closed and the money was back in my account. It's not.

And to top it all off, my health insurance is refusing to pay for blood work I had done in April and saying that the bill is $900+. They're currently "processing the appeal."

Too many things all at the same time!

My day off yesterday was nice and relaxing, though.

I Skyped with a friend who I haven't seen in a few years. It was really nice to talk with her again. She has such a positive outlook on life, despite having received the short end of the stick multiple times. Then I got a massage which was glorious and much needed. Then Amadi, Simon, and I went and saw The Conjuring which is SOGOOD. I honestly don't remember the last time I saw a scary movie that I was impressed by. It was awesome, though, and I'd highly recommend seeing it if you're into horror movies.

Oh! Something else exciting that happened: On Sunday I met with our Marketing Director (who's leaving soon) to go over some stuff that I'd be doing. It was really awesome to get a little tour of our marketing stuff and to learn what I'd get to do. I'm really excited about getting back into the marketing stuff.
