Something Borrowed, Something Blue

This weekend I went to my Plymouth roommate Alissa's wedding. It was a beautiful little ceremony. Alissa looked beautiful, and she and her husband Ryan were so happy. While I'm not for getting married so young, they've been together since Alissa was fourteen, and if anyone was ready for this step, it was them. The wedding and reception were held at Boyden Valley Farms in Cambridge, VT, which is absolutely beautiful. It's very rustic chic, and I think Alissa's decorating played well with that. It was definitely a totally Pinterest wedding, but it was so cozy.

I'm so glad I got to help my friends celebrate their love. I really meant to get like, pictures of me and stuff, but since I failed miserably, here are some pictures of random stuff!

It has been a crazy week!

So to catch you all up, I picked up Alex from Portland, and we made our way to Monmouth.

I now live with seven other people: six actors and the stage manager. There's John and his wife Shannon who are big into the opera scene; Connor and Matt, two actors from Philly; Marie, who just finished seven months in contract with Disney on one of their cruise ships; Christine, the stage manager who's from Utah, and Alex, who lives in New York.

They all seem like wonderful, lovely people, even if I do feel a little out of place with so many actors around.

On Tuesday, I jumped right into the Marketing world. Dawn and I created a whole list of things for me to be working on, including press releases, website work, eBlasts, graphic design-y things, and a couple longer term projects or ideas for me to be thinking about. I'm also in charge of getting the mail and general office-y things like that. In addition to all those responsibilities, yesterday I got trained in box office world, and I sold four tickets!

It's actually been really fun. I went postering on Wednesday to the towns of Gray and New Gloucester, and today my very limited knowledge of html helped me fix something on the website. Small victories are definitely good when you're just starting out.

Tomorrow James is coming by to talk about the new website he's designing for us, so that should be exciting.

Overall, it's really good to be back. I actually like being in the office a lot. Now I need to see if I can get Dawn to unleash the social media stuff to me, and get some new things up on the TAM blog!

This weekend I'm off to Vermont to go to my college roommate's wedding, so look forward to that for Tuesday. And look forward to my Mall of Maine haul on Sunday! Hope you guys have had a great week!

Ravens, Bohs, Crabs, and O's

I'd say it's been a very successful half a week back.

I met with Andrea (the new director of Federal Hill Main Street) to talk about interviewing some people. Hopefully I can get that mostly taken care of tomorrow, and completely dealt with by Wednesday.

I also got my blood taken for my doctor's office on Tuesday.

Yesterday, my mom and I went over to the Columbia Mall looking for a dress for Alissa's wedding. I found this one:

I think it's super cute and totally perfect for a Fall wedding. Tomorrow I'm planning on getting my hotel and gift options out of the way, so I'll be totally set for that. Macy's was having great sales yesterday, so I also ended up getting three new bras (how long has it been since I've had a new bra??) and they're great! The one I'm wearing now is ridiculously comfortable (and cute!)

Then today we went to the Orioles game at 1:30. My mom set up a play date (yes, I'm 23) with a girl who works in the Marketing department at T. Rowe named Claire. She was really nice, and we talked about a bunch of stuff including Marketing and what she does and what we need to learn. It was nice having someone my age to talk to. Plus, the O's won (10-3), and my favorite player (Nick Markakis, #21) who hasn't been doing great this season hit a home run!

Tomorrow I jump in on all the things I want to get done while I'm here. For now, I have to go read. I requested some books from the library here using my mom's card, not thinking anything would come of it, but it turns out the Enoch Pratt library is way more awesome than I thought. I have an ebook I just downloaded and a paperback waiting for me at the library. If I want to finish it by the time I leave, though. I need to race through the one I'm reading now! Yay for too much to read!
